Krasnobakovsky District is an administrative district (raion), one of the forty in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia. Municipally, it is incorporated as Krasnobakovsky Municipal District. It is located in the north of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,757.8 square kilometers (678.7 sq mi). Its administrative center is the urban locality of Krasnye Baki. Population: 22,524 ; 26,047 (2002 Census); 27,151 (1989 Soviet census). The population of Krasnye Baki accounts for 32.4% of the district's total population.
